Lorain teachers sanction Lorain school system

The Lorain Education Association stunned the school board with six sanctions over what it calls an intolerable educational climate. It advised teachers to avoid Lorain contracts, urged members to seek employment elsewhere, and sought help from the Ohio, National Education Associations to place teachers and publicize conditions in Lorain City Schools. It also asked certification and placement services to note unsatisfactory conditions and to inform public agencies and state education departments.

Sergeant in Viet declines offers to care for his motherless brood

Air Force Sergeant John L. Wolfe, in Vietnam with 36 years service, declined hundreds of offers from across 31 states to adopt his six motherless children after news of his hardship discharge. Area soldier Charles Flood killed in Vietnam

An 18 year old US Army Specialist 4 Charles D Flood was killed in action in Vietnam while attached to Company B 815th Engineer Battalion 937th Engineer Corps. His parents Mr and Mrs Henry Flood of North Ridgeville said he enlisted in 1966 during his senior year at North Ridgeville High School and had worked at Dunlaps Service Station and the Manor Motel. He leaves three brothers Henry Marcie Ernest and Danny and is survived by other relatives. Funeral arrangements are handled by Bogner Funeral Home.
