Elyria to trial municipal gardens for relief work plan
Mayor Van Oster outlined two garden plans to aid relief efforts in Elyria. One 209 acre municipal plot at the sewage plant and another 20 acre Gulf road parcel to be rented to individuals earning 29 dollars a week or less. Gardens to be worked by relief recipients with city supplied seeds and supervision. The plan aims to cut relief costs amid a tight budget with 2000 dollars needed for seed and supplies and a 500 dollar donation appeal.

Woman hit by car sustains injuries on Cleveland Street
Frances Meo of South Logan street suffered multiple injuries at about 7 30 a m when a car driven by P E Mead of Els ra RD 3 collided with another car, veered onto the curb, and struck her on the Cleveland street sidewalk near Olive. She was hospitalized at Memorial. Mead’s vehicle then struck a machine driven by Wayne Berdur of 226 Stanford avenues.

Willoughby Fire Destroys Two Downtown Buildings
