Court voids state closure of Mounds Club in Ohio
Common Pleas Judge Winfield Scott Slocum in Painesville set aside the order by which the State Department of Industrial Relations closed the Mounds Club last spring. In a nine page opinion he found there was not sufficient evidence to justify the state's arbitrary action for 18 alleged building code violations at a public assembly venue. The judge suggested similar offenses exist in many other buildings lacking similar inspection.
