Ohio Old Age Pension System Reaches Second Anniversary

Ohio's old age pension program, created by a statewide vote, pays about 1.3 million dollars monthly to roughly 86,000 recipients. Since starting in 1934, total cost remains near 16 million yearly, with average monthly pensions rising from 12.74 to about 15.03 by December 1935. Directors M. L. Brown and Henry Berrodin lead the effort as expansion continues and federal aid potential grows.
