Wife Released After Probe Of Husband's Death
Mrs. Mabel Hunker 36 was released by authorities after a full investigation into the death of her husband Charles 40, a Lorain WPA worker, who bled to death at their Elgrigid Avenue home when he fell intoxicated and cut an artery. Prosecutor Howard R. Butler recommended the release after a conference with Sheriff Clarence W. Dick. He is survived by three children.

Smiling Youth Sentenced For Auto Theft

Warden and Two Die as Prison Break Ends in Shootout
Sioux Falls March 7 Three deaths were charged in the bloody escape from South Dakota state prison. Claude Carrier 18 of Kansas led two companions Harold Carrier and Phil Ray in a raid that freed inmates and seized weapons. Deputies and guards exchanged fire as the fugitives fled in a car and later a second vehicle. Carrier was wounded and captured after a snowbound crash. Deputy George Collins was killed and others wounded. The Carriers may face charges for the deaths of Meisel and Reilly as the investigation progresses.
