Ohio sportsmen protest diverted hunting and fishing funds
Ohio hunters fishermen and trappers protest loss of 4.2 million in license revenues diverted by the Celeste administration. They cite a reduction of the Divison of Wildlife rotary fund from 19 million in 1983 to 5.3 million by 1985 and a proposed cut to 1 million by 1987. They warn the chargeback system diverts statutorily earmarked funds from wildlife programs to general department operations.
