Tornadoes kill four in Iowa towns and rupture tanks
A swarm of tornadoes struck northern and central Iowa causing four deaths and about 70 injuries. In Manson and Algona neighborhoods were wiped out with 24 businesses and 100 homes destroyed or heavily damaged. In Renwick two anhydrous ammonia tanks ruptured releasing toxic fumes. both tanks later sealed and residents evacuated. Nationwide storms also touched Minnesota North Dakota Colorado and Arkansas with damage but no deaths reported.
