Sandusky man dies in one car crash
A 24 year old Sandusky man Timothy M. Hiemstra died after a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado left the road on state Route 4 south of the Ohio Turnpike in Erie County and overturned. Passenger Trevor A. Dehn 24 was not wearing a seat belt and was treated for minor injuries. Police report alcohol suspected and the crash remains under investigation.

Indian-born doctor D. C. Patel remembered for life of service
Dinubhai C. Patel, a gastroenterologist who treated patients at Elyria Memorial Hospital from 1979 to 2003, is remembered for his generous nature and patient care. Born in Uganda to Indian parents, he studied in India and the United States, building a medical career and a devoted family life. He traveled with colleagues and family, spoke fondly of India, and saved a patient’s life in 1983. He died May 18, 2010, at 64.
