O W Greenburg a New York silhouette artist is in Elyria roaming streets and offices to snip profiles from black paper. The quick portraits will appear in the Chronicle Telegram as part of a Guess Who feature inviting locals to identify well known Elyrians. Greenberg has cut silhouettes for twenty five years including presidents and European rulers.
Captain Charles Kingsford Smith and three companions launched the Southern Cross from Newfoundland toward New York at 3 05 pm EST today. The crew planned a 12 hour flight to Roosevelt Field L I, weather favorable with a light west wind as the plane climbed westward over the Newfoundland hills.
Harry C. Stutz aged 53, founder of the Stutz Motor Car Company, died at Methodist Hospital Indianapolis after an appendicitis operation. He was brought to the city from Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday.
A car belonging to Jake Juchem of North Ridgeville sustained minor damage yesterday afternoon after colliding on East Avenue at Fourth Street with a vehicle driven by YT B Tucium of Sullivan. Police reports note only slight damage and no injuries.

Katarina Engel administratrix of the estate of Joseph Engel of Elyria Township filed in common pleas court for $25,000. Backers claim a first in aviation history to refuel in darkness, with plans to keep increasing daily contracts to ensure a steady oil supply.
C Weeley Lawrence, a Chronicle-Telegram news staff member, is reported improved after an appendectomy at Elyria Clinic. On Wednesday afternoon he received a blood transfusion to aid his strength. Blood was donated by Verne Barnes of 339 Second Street.
