Supreme Court ruling affects sex offender cases in Ohio
The Ohio Supreme Court decision allows the state to stop about 400 cases where offenders with changed classifications challenged the law. Defense attorney Kenneth Lioux says Visiting Judge Coyne must officially end those cases, while deputies face ongoing workload from community notifications and offender lists. Nicholl notes new Tier III offenders will replace those removed, maintaining rising counts.
