Oberlin police arrest 10 youths after fights

Nine Elyria youths and one Lorain youth were arrested after two fights. Six juveniles were sent to Lorain County Jail, four held in Oberlin Jail with bonds set. Names include Clenophtus Bowens and Willie Lee Cole, with charges ranging from carrying concealed weapons to assault and battery.

Lorain Boy Killed While Riding Bicycle

An eight year old Lorain boy, Paul Ondeka, was struck by a car driven by Alfonso Rodriguez and died at St. Joseph Hospital. He rode north on Toledo Avenue toward East 28th Street when the westbound car hit him. Police say the driver’s charges have not yet been filed.

Judge candidate hit in age ruling

Elyria attorney Jack W. Dilgren faces questions on his eligibility for Lorain County Common Pleas Court in the November election. He plans no action until he obtains an official ruling copy. The Ohio Supreme Court deemed a constitutional amendment barring judges over 70 from seeking election in effect, effective immediately. 2000 Students Attack U S Embassy in Rio Fray Ends in Deaths

In Rio de Janeiro about 2000 Brazilian students demonstrated for more education funding and attacked the U S Embassy.
