Vermilion police charged 69 year old Norman Talafer with child enticement after he allegedly approached a 6 year old at Sherod Park on West Lake Road about 7:30 p.m. Friday. Witnesses reported he offered to help locate a dog in his 2006 blue Chevy van. Talafer is free on bond and due in Vermilion Municipal Court July 24.

WRECK Suspect chased from home after break in at Honeylocust Lane
Police searched for a suspect after a man at 4868 Honeylocust Lane reported being chased from his home by a male. Muller reportedly rang the bell, entered an unlocked door, and lay on the floor. The resident armed himself with a golf club and frightened him off. Muller was later arrested. No theft occurred but more charges may follow.
