Three charged with robberies in Gallipolis
Wilbur Rice Ellis Simpson and Clarence Sheets all of Ironton Ohio were charged today with the robberies of two stores in Gallipolis. No indictment was returned by the grand jury in connection with the death of Owen Hall who was shot to death in his automobile last Saturday night.

Span Collapse Kills Two Workers in Caney Fork Bridge
Rescue crews in Carthage Tennessee searched the ruins of a near finished highway span over the Caney Fork River after a sudden collapse. At least two died and six were seriously injured as 15 workers plunged about 35 feet when a steel girder failed and the concrete forms toppled into the river.

Two youths killed in head on crash near Ridgeville Center
Ernest Eberhardt 23 and Walter Gaumann 21, both of South Amherst, died after their motorcycle collided with a car driven by Charles Goss about 1.5 miles east of Ridgeville Center on Cleveland Road. Gaumann’s body was found 69 feet from the crash in a thicket. Coroner absolved Goss of fault. The pair had been riding home from Cleveland when the crash occurred. Funeral services set for South Amherst Church with interment in South Amherst Cemetery.
