Wheat poll aims to gauge support for wheat production limits
Ohio State University economist Dennis Henderson notes a June to July poll of farmers on mandatory wheat production limits. If enacted, limits could cut planted acres about in half, reducing US wheat output by 500 to 600 million bushels and raising farm marketing returns modestly while ending deficiency payments under current programs. The non binding poll, ordered by Congress, seeks farmer views on a major commodity decision.
