Grafton schools map plan to cut extras and jobs
Midview Board of Education, in a public hearing, outlined a deficit reduction plan including elimination of extracurricular activities, six layoffs and five other job cuts to close a projected $600,000 deficit by end of 1986 87. A 9.8 mill four year levy is set for Aug 5. If failed, further cuts include bus point reductions and cancellation of trips, outdoor education and community programs. A parent group offered to help preserve sports if levy fails.
