Firelands School District to vote on two levies in November

Firelands School District residents face a November ballot with two levies: a 7.45 mill operating levy for five years beginning in 1966 and a 1-mill add-on levy for the graduating class. If the renewal fails, the district may place it on May and November ballots again. Community meetings tip toward informed voting as district finances loom large and local hearings draw few citizens. The report notes graduates attend several colleges and the district would collect roughly $600,000 from levies in 1965–66. Mayor events in Birmingham and Birmingham-area residents are urged to attend meetings.
