Pick-Up Seen For GM Plant
The Brown Lipe Chapin division of General Motors plans to hire more workers and install equipment for a new anodized mobile part this summer or fall. The plant manager, John B Findling, calls the order sizable and says the workforce, about 1 500 now, could rise near or above 2 000 as demand increases. Four day weeks will close as fall orders arrive, with hiring focused locally if possible. The anodizing process adds corrosion resistance, with finishing and machining in Elyria.
