Wall Street Posts Rally Toward 1981 Highs
The Dow Jones rose 12 49 points to 10067 9 amid heavy trading as investors bet rates will fall due to slowing economy. NYSE index up 9 87 to 77 60 and S&P 500 up 1 27 to 1334. Advances outpaced declines 1 217 to 727 with Big Board volume around 259.7 million. Analysts expect continued gains next week if money supply shrinks further and policy remains tight.
