Harold E Pryor 69 of Lorain died Saturday at St Joseph Hospital after a sudden illness. He coached at Lorain High School for 20 years and ran an insurance business until 1974. A Navy veteran and Wooster College Hall of Fame inductee, he is survived by wife Ruth and daughters. Burial at Ridgehill Memorial Park with services through Walter A Frey Funeral Home.

North Royalton man charged with attempted murder in Avon Lake
George Angelis, 28, of North Royalton, was arraigned in Avon Lake Municipal Court on attempted murder charges after striking Richard Schultz, 40, of Vermilion, with a heavy pipe at the CEI Avon Lake plant. Schultz suffered critical head injuries and remained hospitalized. Police say the attack followed an earlier dispute. Angelis posted a $50,000 bond and faces further court dates.

The Chronicle Telegram corrected a report misstating James E. Grimes Elyria an insurance agent as an A L Williams employee. Grimes affiliated as an independent agent until May 1980. He is charged with theft by deception for allegedly taking 14646 from an insurer for a stolen office computer later found removed by a witness in a March break-in.
