Former Supreme Court Justice Tom C. Clark died yesterday at a New York home. He was 76 and had traveled to assist the Znd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals with its caseload. Clark served 18 years on the court after being nominated by President Harry S. Treman.

Jetport site chosen despite Area fees protest
A protest bus failed to sway Lake Erie Regional Transportation Authority trustees as they unanimously endorsed the Grafton Belden Liverpool area as the preferred jetport site. The decision follows FAA funded studies and sets the stage to compare with a Lake Erie offshore site. A July 12 workshop will explain how sites are compared and a final recommendation is due by August 1.

Last escapee caught in Tennessee woods
Douglas Shelton, the final escapee from Brushy Mountain State Prison, was recaptured about eight miles northwest of the prison in the same general area as James Earl Ray. Shelton, serving 98 years for murder, assault and grand larceny, was seized after a 34 hour escape in the Cumberland Mountains.
