You and Your Child Play as Aid to Growth and Discipline
Many parents undervalue play viewing it as mere diversion. Play promotes physical growth, self expression, and self control, helping shy or nervous children overcome deficiencies. It teaches fair play and courtesy, and calls for better public play spaces with trained leadership, urging parents to foster safe play areas or lobby for suitable spaces.
