Auction grows into Lorain County’s biggest benefit sale
LeRoy M. Dewey and a volunteer group transformed a Oberlin fund-raiser into a countywide auction. June 21 to 23 at Lorain County Fairgrounds will auction hundreds of donated items, with 100 percent of proceeds to the American Cancer Society. Twelve auctioneers volunteer, venues donated, and all proceeds stay local. Dewey’s drive began after cancer ostomy patient needs and expanded as dozens of county businesses contributed merchandise from $15 to $4,000.
