Elyria Slum Housing Sparks Debate Over Private Homes

Elyria councilman James Anton laments lack of $40,000 to $50,000 private homes in the city, noting a growth of low and moderate income apartments outside jurisdiction. He cites easy financing for apartments and the need for market demand for higher bracket homes amid economic pressures and upcoming I 90 improvements.
