Elyrian Credits Blood Donors For Saving His Life
Sgt Kenneth Coffin of Elyria recalls injuries from Korea on July 12 1951 when a bullet struck his abdomen and lodged in his hip. He returned to the US for treatment and on April 10 underwent surgery at Ft Huachuca Arizona to remove the bullet after a major bleed required five transfusions. Now recovering with leg trouble, he thanks the Red Cross blood donors and stays with his aunt Mrs Bertha Scher Birkline at 114 Mille Avenue.
