Clarence J Life 60 of 141 Bell avenue died at Elyria Memorial hospital from injuries after a bicycle collision with a hit skip car late last night. Police said he rode south on West avenue near 11th street when struck. two witnesses heard scraping but the car fled. Life, born January 23 1892, was proprietor of Life Furniture and Elyria Window Glass companies and longtime Troxel employee. Funeral arrangements incomplete.

Arthur Casey, 19, told Oakville Ontario police he stole 250 dollars from a local bowling alley last January and attempted to surrender in Vancouver. He ended up handing himself in after traveling 2700 miles, saying Oakville officers wouldn’t come that far. He received a six month jail term.
