Ellen co star says Ellen went too gay for its time
Joely Fisher, a former Ellen cast member, says the show focused too much on gay themes after ABC canceled it. She notes Ellen DeGeneres kissing her girlfriend drew mixed reactions and that the cast was overlooked in weekly writing. Fisher calls Ellen a pioneer and says she’s weighing NBC pilot and film options now.
