Fishing for Records How to verify a big catch for Hall of Fame
Anglers recall the rush of landing lunkers and warn against eating a catch before records check. The National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame advises steps: no line touching during reeling, weigh on certified scales with two witnesses, measure girth and length, identify by a fisheries expert, photograph broadside, keep fish on ice, save line, and contact the Division of Wildlife. Follow these practices to preserve a possible state or Fish Ohio record.
