Heat and flood havoc as storm roars eastward

A severe storm system spawned tornadoes across Oklahoma to Wisconsin, killing 16 and injuring hundreds while flooding Midwestern towns. In the East the heat spiked near 100 degrees with Boston hitting 97 as New York and Hartford saw record warmth. Rescue crews saved motorists in Kansas City area floods and two teens clung to a fence in rising water.
