Pay to park rule starts in downtown Lorain
Mayor Joseph Zahorec announced a new parking plan in Lorain with free downtown parking ending June 18. Safety Director Anthony Murello said the change aims for convenience, not revenue, as Broadway corridor work reduces spaces. Meters near downtown will limit to one or two hours, farther spots to twelve hours. Merchants say fewer spaces hurt business, and a June 14 meeting with the Ohio Department of Transportation and the project firm will seek solutions.
