Fuller approved as OC president

Oberlin College trustees appoint Robert W. Fuller, dean at Trinity College Hartford, as tenth Oberlin president effective July. Carr leaves June 30 after a 1960s tenure. Fuller, on campus as president elect, led Trinity through innovations and interdisciplinary programs while Gilligan’s era at Oberlin will end with Carlson acting president temporarily.

Harding calls for end of airport authority

Nixon Talk To Hijacked Pilot Barred

President Nixon's attempt to call pilot Capt. Dale C. Hope was blocked by doctors as Hope recuperated from a three hour surgery after being wounded in the Thursday hijacking of a Trans World Airlines jet. Hope remained in Fairfax Hospital in Virginia in good condition and could not receive the message.
