A bitter debate at Lorain County Regional Airport Authority prompts two resignations. One, from authority president Robert Harding, a South Amherst music instructor, is reportedly being rescinded via a letter to the Lorain County Commissioners.
Warren Finkel, a Lorain architect, denied resigning and denied mailing a resignation letter. However, sources report a letter dated June 3 states his resignation was to take effect immediately due to personal and business pressures, sent to county commissioners, the airport authority, and Lorain City Council.
Viet Cong and North Vietnamese forces tightened control of Setbo ten miles from Phnom Penh as government units reinforced with paratroopers and armor. Cambodian air forces bombed the guerrillas while casualties mounted on both sides. Meanwhile a second assault on Kompong Thom tested government defenses as Thai border moves and U.S. air support shaped the broader crisis.
Elyria High School graduates marched 811 strong as Garv C Bennett urged courage over fear and unity beyond class and national lines. He spoke at Ely Stadium in a cool evening ceremony with the choir, band, and diplomas awarded by the school board.
Cloudy with showers likely and a chance of a thundershower as warm, humid conditions persist. Showers taper this evening with partial clearing tonight, then tomorrow's highs near 68 to 70 and lows in the 30s to 40s. Sunday expected partly cloudy and warmer with similar temperatures.

A frustrated taxpayer hijacked a TWA 727 at Dulles, demanding 100 million dollars after a 471 dollar grievance. A cockpit gun battle wounded no one, and FBI agents stormed the jet as passengers fled through window exits. The hijacker was captured, plane tires shot out, and a chaotic recovery followed.
A 13 year old driver Joseph Lyons was arrested after a night chase through Lorain ending in a crash. Police fired two shotgun blasts at the tires during pursuit. a pellet lodged in the dashboard. Lyons, son of Erslee Lyons, is awaiting juvenile authorities at Lorain County Detention Home for auto theft.
