Sewer work near EMH ER prompts two-week detour plan
The city will replace aging sewer lines in front of EMH Regional Medical Center from June 14 to 25, causing traffic detours around the ER. East River Street will close from Broad Street to the hospital entrance, with access redirected to the East River Street garage and ER from the south. After 30 years of service Lorain Police Captain William Engle retires effective today. He joined in 1980 and rose through ranks to captain in 2001 as an original SWAT member and former commander of support services.
