Arrest Spitale on Pistol Charge
NEW YORK June 3 Salva tore Spitale told a Bronx County Grand Jury he helped negotiate for the return of the Lindbergh baby. He was arrested early today charged with carrying a pistol without a proper permit. Spitale and Irving Bitz were two underworld figures tied to the Lindbergh case. Spitale had a permit when arrested in a speakeasy with two others, all said by police to carry pistols under Greene County permits. Dr John F Condon Jassial paid $50,000 for the return and planned to view Rogue's Gallery pictures to identify the kidnapper.
