The hospital plans to hire a mix of current fill-ins and outsiders as vacancies arise while union talks resume August 2 to end the four week strike.
President Reagan secures a 238 to 195 House approval of a three year tax cut package, with 48 Democrats defecting and only one Republican opposing. Senate action and conference talks loom as oil industry tax breaks totaling 47 billion over a decade remain a potential hurdle. The plan promises a permanent 25 percent rate cut over 33 months with inflation adjusted annual updates starting in 1985.
