Treasure hunter Mel Fisher uncovers Atocha riches in Key West
In Key West the crew aboard Virgelona found 13 gold bars and four silver chests from the Nuestra Senora de Atocha, ending a 16 year quest. The Atocha wreck, off Florida’s coast, yielded ingots coins and jewels amid storms and the loss of Fisher’s son Dirk and daughter-in-law.
