Train Wreck Injures At Least 15 Near Grand Canyon
A Santa Fe passenger train with 190 aboard derailed on a 7000 foot mountain pass six miles south of Grand Canyon. At least 15 were injured, initially reported as 7 or 8, with none in serious condition. The 12 car train was returning 600 excursionists at about 25 mph when wheels jumped the rails.

Four Americans Die in English Aircraft Crash
Four American technicians, all believed killed, were aboard a Lockheed aircraft tested in Cheshire for the British Royal Air Force. The plane crashed and burned during a trial flight near Thurstaston, Liverpool. Fire brigade recovered three bodies at the scene and a fourth was removed later. A red white and blue RAF disc remained on the charred wreckage.

Velma West, a wife slayer held to be returned to Ohio, disclosed a romance during 36 days of freedom after escaping Marysville Women's Reformatory. Ohio WPA layoffs under new relief act announced
Columbus reporting that 8,188 Ohio project workers are to be dismissed by July 26 under a relief act requiring lay offs for workers on the program more than 18 months. Recertification is needed for reemployment after 30 days, and 12,000 more will be dropped this month with 25,000 in August and 15,000 in September estimated by WPA officials.

Truck Hits Auto Injuring Three Minor in Lorain County
A car carrying Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Hadaway of LaGrange and Mrs. May Cornish of North Eaton was struck by a truck driven by Walter McCluer of Wooster at Parsons Road and Route 301. The Hadaway party, treated at home, were aided by Mrs. J. L. Linden nearby. A separate incident on Foster Park and Kolbe road saw a guardrail prevent a fall into Beaver Creek after a collision between cars driven by W. M. Bennett of Elyria and Howard C. Smith of the Jackson Hotel. Another car owned by Joseph A. Sittenger on East River road skidded and tipped into a tree two miles south of Elyria.

Bus overturns injuring four on Pacific highway north of Grants Pass
A Greyhound bus rolled over about 30 miles north of Grants Pass Oregon on the Pacific highway early today injuring at least four persons.
