Jewelry theft at Lorain home prompts police report
More than 1200 dollars in jewelry and other items plus a 100 dollar bill were stolen from Oak Point Road last night. The break in occurred between 6 30 pm and 8 pm while Chester Frederick 42 of 5343 Oak Point Rd was away. Entry was gained by prying a screen and forcing a storm window. Post office curtailment plans were delayed after a US Senate exemption to manpower cuts. Closing windows today allowed 14 hours of service across Lorain County facilities, with regular staff stepping in. The exemption came as a rider to a minor post office bill paving the way for House approval without committee review.
