Gurney defense likens him to Mr Clean in politics
In a six hour summation attorney C Harris Dittmar urged jurors to see former Senator Edward Gurney as Mr Clean while painting witness Larry Williams as a con man. The case nears the jury’s deliberation after 22 weeks, with co defendants Bastien Koontz and Swiger facing conspiracy charges. Williams testified as fund raiser and is jailed, while Dittmar argued Williams lied.
