Huntington Two resident fights area rezoning near Rt 162
George L. Wilcox of Rt 162 objects at a public hearing to a proposed 30 acre commercial district on the north side of Rt 162 west of Rt 58, fearing loss of peaceful surroundings and possible halt of the new Huntington Amvets Post Home. Fellow resident Hart Leininger cites police concerns while the Lorain County Regional Planning Commission opposes the plan, proposing limited rezoning along Rt 58 and Rt 162. The Amvets hold a building permit. trustees note parking and access issues influenced site choice. The township zoning board will vote next and Wilcox may circulate a petition to bring the issue to a general election if enough signatures are gathered.
