Sheriff charges Cleveland man in restaurant fight
Lorain County deputies cited a July 14 incident at Farmer Boy Restaurant in South Amherst. Moshen Aly Ayoub, 54, of Cleveland, was charged with assault after fighting with Mahmoud A. Al-Jammal, a cook, in the kitchen. Al-Jammal required treatment for a head injury. Ayoub declined treatment. Pre-trial hearing set for Aug. 18 in Oberlin Municipal Court.

Toledo Zoo releases video of July 1 elephant attack

Family Plea in Dallas Child Abuse Case Faces Trial
Abner Santiago and his wife Sonia picked up Abneris Santiago after a desperate call, then police were involved as a 1,200 mile trip led to a rescue. Doctors say the children were malnourished and life threatening conditions, one girl reporting sexual assault. Alfred Santiago allegedly beat the eldest son. Two Men Arrested on Drug Charges in Elyria
Elyria police and Ohio Highway Patrol flagged a traffic stop at Middle Avenue and Eight Street alley after a foot chase. Inside a nearby home at 1100 Middle Avenue officers found marijuana, crack pipes, and bullets. Marques Brown and Mario Newson, both 21, were charged with obstructing official business. Homeowner Richard Oliver, 57, was charged with permitting drug abuse. In Lorain, Ethan West, 36, was charged with public indecency and disorderly conduct after exposing himself and urinating in front of onlookers at 900 block of South Central Drive.

Girl Struck While Crossing Road Airlifted to MetroHealth
