All felony charges against Cleveland City Council President George L. Forbes were dismissed by a judge who said the prosecution had no case. Forbes, one of the citys most influential black leaders, expressed gratitude and prepared to attend church with his family. Det. Curtis Watkins faced lesser charges. Mayor Kucinich declined comment.

Vicki Singleton advanced to the quarterfinals of the Ohio Women's Amateur Golf Championship at Elyria Country Club by defeating Diane Calkins 4 and 2. On her home course she holed an eagle chip on number 12 and sealed the win with a birdie on 16. The forecast called for clear conditions with a low in the 50s and sunny skies with highs around 80.
