Elyria councilman Robert Fred ric, a national stamp authority and Chronicle Telegram columnist, was burglarized at his home Monday in broad daylight. FBI spokesman said the missing stamps would be valued only if under $50,000.

A Cleveland area survey shows businesses and public venues already meeting the new federal thermostat limits amid partly cloudy, warm weather. The order caps summer at 65 degrees in many nonresidential buildings and targets energy savings of around two percent, with homes and some facilities exempt. Elyria restaurant owner Gus Zaffer says he has long conserved cooling.
