The Circus What’s What Today and Its Wide World
A survey of circuses shows about 40 traveling acts with Ringling Brothers and Clyde Beatty Cole Bros among the largest. The Clyde Beatty Circus seats 3000 in a three ring tent with over 100 animals. A new wave circus omits animals and uses a single ring to center on a theme. Circus World Museum in Baraboo Wis hosts thousands yearly with old-time exhibits and live performances under a big top. Gunther Gebel Williams, famed Ringling trainer, returned from retirement to tour the country with his children Mark and Tina performing animals.
