Rosa Parks to receive Freedom Center award in Cincinnati
Civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks has been chosen as the first International Freedom Conductor Award recipient by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. The Sept 26 ceremony in Cincinnati will honor her lifelong work for freedom and human rights. The center plans a national fundraising drive as the $100 million project nears a 2003 opening on the riverfront.
