Wind collapses circus tent in Auburn crowd saved
A thunderstorm gusts up to 40 mph caused a circus tent to collapse trapping about 1 400 of 2 000 performers and spectators. No one was killed though 250 were treated in two hospitals including head injuries from a pole. Rescue crews freed trapped people within 90 minutes as pounding rain and outages affected the city of 35 000 near Syracuse.
