During the depression era Mrs. Robert Crehore a YWCA board member fostered redecoration of the YW residence as budgets prioritized salaries and other costs. Her efforts marked twenty five years of dedicated league service and sociability.
The Elyria Service League hosted a garden and dinner party at the Crehore home on Sixth Street to celebrate 25 years. Members and their husbands enjoyed cocktails in the pink rose adorned garden, with a silver basket centerpiece and buffet dining. The event highlighted the league’s history from its 1933 founding by Mrs Crehore and noted long time members and ongoing fundraising for local causes and hospitals.
