Fresco Restoration Planned for Sacred Heart Church

In South Bend Indiana the famed Gregori fresco in Sacred Heart Church will be restored over the next four months by Conrad Schmidt of Milwaukee. Schmidt notes most of the 50 year old paintings are in good shape though some areas need touching up. He praises the mineral colors used by Gregori that shed dust and tolerate atmospheric change. The Bernini altar, over 300 years old, designed by Bernini, is highlighted as well.
