Johnson & Johnson settles antitrust suit over pain device
A UPI report states Johnson & Johnson agreed to a 176.4 million settlement with Stan McDonald Clayton Jensen and Norman Hagfors alleging the company fraudulently induced them to sell StimTech and then breached their 1974 contract. The federal jury awarded 56.87 million, tripled under antitrust law. Johnson & Johnson plans an appeal.

LPNs and lab workers strike at Oberlin hospital
Licensed practical nurses and X ray and lab technicians at Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin walked out over wages and fringe benefits. The 95 member LPN-SHEP union demands a 20 percent raise from a $5.10 starting pay, longer wage steps, higher night differential, $2 overtime for on call on X ray and lab staff, plus $10 guaranteed or two hours pay per patient. They seek better Blue Cross policy and an advisory committee with doctors, RNs, and LPNs to hear grievances. Negotiations have been ongoing since April 20 with a 63 to 19 strike vote after final offers.

Judges deny more Lorain housing trial funds
Three Lorain County Common Pleas Court judges refused to transfer remaining funds from a 150000 appropriation to pay two special assistant prosecutors and an investigator for the housing trials.
