Fatal Heart Attack Crashes Car on Chestnut Ridge Road
Fred P. Youngberg of 149 Hamilton Street suffered a heart attack at the wheel shortly after 7:30 a.m. and died at Elyria Memorial Hospital. He was driving west on Chestnut Ridge Road when witnesses report he slumped over the wheel, causing his car to enter a field on the Lawrence Myers farm. Youngberg was a Hat Construction Company driver en route from Avon Belden Road property to Oberlin Road. The body lies at Leonard Reichlin Funeral Home pending arrangements.

Elyria Council Considers Rezoning For Dairy Plant
The Elyria city council discussed an ordinance for the south side of 15th street west to rezone from B residence to Class B commercial to permit Ralph and Al Bauer to build a modern dairy plant.
