Mormons Built Vast Kirtland Church Tale of Ohio History

In Kirtland Ohio a massive church traces its origin to 1827 New York with Joseph Smith and the Urim and Thummim. Followers led to Ohio by 1830s, building ambitious pulpits and carved columns as they felled trees and quarried stone. After bank failures and losses, the church faded and later became the Organised Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1880, now a historic site attracting many visitors.
